Honda Pilipinas Dream Cup Riders Continue Their “Road to Champion” Journey in Round 2
Young riders push limits at Tarlac Circuit Hill
Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI), known for its commitment and dedication to motorsports, along with its valued sponsors, continues developing nine young aspiring riders in the Honda Pilipinas Dream Cup (HPDC).
The HPDC recently concluded its challenging second round at the Tarlac Circuit Hill last June 15 and 16 with a nail-biting competition filled with impressive displays of their skills and speed.
June 15 – Practice and Qualifying
In the morning, riders participated in the practice sessions on the racetrack, familiarizing themselves with the twists and turns of the track. Following the practice sessions was the qualifying session. Coaching staff equipped the riders with valuable pointers before they tackled the main race. Undoubtedly fueled by two exhilarating days of racing, riders pushed themselves to the limit, tackling the track with infectious enthusiasm. This resulted in positive lap times of the riders, with all of them is 1:12 lap time, Urielle Jirone “Yuri” Olayvar securing the Pole Position in HPDC and ending the day with a blast.

June 16 – Warm-up, Race 1 and Race 2
With the results of the heart-pounding qualifying round fresh in their minds, the riders continued their passionate pursuit of becoming the fastest on the track and finishing at the top of the podium. The coach provided valuable lessons on proper riding position and riding tips, helping the young aspirants on their “Road to Champion” journey. Their goal was to improve their lap times using CBR150R race bikes.
The competition was fierce, and the top 3 riders emerged once again in Race 1 and Race 2. Rider #9, Kenzo Abadilla, Rider #2 John Nathan Galang, and Rider #3 Carlsen Solis, showcased their exceptional skills. Carlsen Solis achieved the fastest lap of the race with an impressive time of 1:10.666 in Race 2, Lap 12.
