May 4-5, 2019, Batangas Racing Circuit, Rosario, Batangas – The 2019 Honda Pilipinas Dream Cup kicks-off with new aspiring young riders as they are challenge to strive for the podium finish using the CBR150R. It aims to develop young Filipino riders who could represent Philippines in the International Race of Honda and develop them at par with the other International Riders.
The Honda Pilipinas Dream Cup is one of the race events in Petron National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2019. During the opening ceremony last Sunday, HPI President Mr. Mitsuishi has addressed the racing community with delight and wished all participants good luck in race day.
The 2018 HPDC Champion #01 Jakob Sablaya was able to defend his title this weekend with strong performance as he was able to get 1st place in both Race 1 and Race 2. #06 Chino Hung was the most competitive rider that challenged the leader, taking 2nd place for both Race 1 and 2, as well. However, for 3rd place, #08 Kurt Villanueva and #09 Marco Neil Ventinilla battled head to head at the track most especially during the Race 2; while #07 Kokoy Mangibin together with #04 Nicol Lee, #05 Travys Paralejas and #02 Andrej Ondillo was trying to catch up with the lead pack. It was notable that their lap times have improved from Race 1 to Race 2. On the other hand, #03 Chad Mangulabnan was not able to race due to his injury during training.
