Honda Philippines Flexes New Big Bikes at The 2024 Makina Moto Show
Learn out about HPI’s big launches at one of the most exciting bike shows.

The 2024 Makina Moto Show happened once again at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, last April 26 to 28, 2024. Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI), the No.1 motorcycle manufacturer in the country, showcased various models at the event. The highlight of the program was the launch of five (5) exciting new Big Bikes last April 26, 2024, including The All-New CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, The All-New CBR650R, The All-New CB650R, The All-New CB500 Hornet, and The All-New NX500.

The All-New CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Big Bike falls under the company’s Super Sports category of motorcycles. It has an aggressive MotoGP inspired styling highlighted by new aerodynamic front winglets and a re-shaped fuel tank that encourages a sporty, slightly forward leaning riding posture. This design offers well-balanced handling ideal for everyday riding. Powering the Fireblade is a specially tuned 1,000cc Liquid-Cooled 4-Stroke DOHC 4-Valve inline 4-Cylinder engine that’s mated to a lightweight Akrapovic titanium muffler. This setup produces stronger mid-range acceleration and top end power while producing a linearly rising exhaust note that’s evocative of a world champion superbike.
Handling on the Fireblade comes courtesy of 43mm Ohlins NPX Inverted Fork with S-EC System front fork and TTX36 Shock Absorber with S-EC System, Multi Adjustable rear suspension, while front and rear Brembo Stylema 4-Piston Caliper disc brakes with 2-channel ABS provides impressive stopping power. These components work in tandem with exclusive Showa-designed Honda 3-level electronic steering damper, a specialized quick shifter, and selectable torque control. The result is superior handling control to match its serious performance capabilities.
At the same time, a 5-inch full-color TFT LCD instrument panel screen, and full LED lighting help keep you aware of the bike’s running conditions while enhancing visibility at night. Finally, The All-New CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP gets Honda’s Smartkey system for security.
Available in Grand Prix Red and Matte Pearl Morion Black colors with a Unified Standard Retail Price of Php1,699,000.
Another Super Sports bike launched at the event was The All-New CBR650R. This bike’s updated styling is inspired by the Fireblade’s sleek, aggressive design and includes aerodynamic winglets and sharp body work. These factors when combined with an aerodynamic riding position allows the bike to handle brilliantly on the track. This Big Bike gets a 649cc 4-Stroke 16-Valve Liquid-Cooled DOHC inline 4 cylinder engine as well as dual-front and single-rear disc brakes with 2-channel ABS for maximum stopping power. Add to these Showa 41mm USD forks and selectable torque control, and The All-New CBR650R will deliver pure super sports bike performance that never sacrifices control. It has also outfitted with a 5-inch full-color TFT display that integrates seamlessly with Honda’s Roadsync App. This feature syncs with your smartphone allowing access to turn-by-turn navigation, phone calling, music, etc. What’s more, this display is designed for maximum readability even during sunny day.
Available in two types, the Standard type with Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic colorways and Honda’s new E-Clutch type comes in Grand Prix Red color, offers real performance, advantage when riding on twisting roads. This means seamless, instant shifting with no momentary engine deceleration or shift lock for better riding stability.
The Standard type comes with a Unified Standard Retail Price of Php554,000 while the E-Clutch type price will be announced soon.
Honda also debuted two new Sports Bikes the first being The All-New CB650R, a “naked” form factor highlighted by compact trapezoidal shapes, side shrouds that’s integrated with the air intake, a modern teardrop-shaped LED headlight, and sharp LED taillight. This bike is powered by a 649cc Liquid-cooled 4-stroke 16-valve DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine, and gets a Slipper Assist Clutch on the Standard type, Honda’s E-Clutch type, as well as Showa 41mm SFF-BP USD front forks, and a natural, upright riding posture that encourages ideal forward visibility. Combined with Honda’s Selectable Torque Control and 2-channel ABS, this bike delivers maximum performance and maneuverability for long and short rides. It also boasts of advanced features in the form of its 5-inch full-color TFT display. This display offers smooth connectivity with your smartphone via Honda’s Roadsync app. This way, you can continue to use your smartphone for calls, navigation, and music.
Available in five (5) colors, Candy Chromosphere Red, Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic, Matte Laurel Green Metallic for Standard type (Unified Standard Retail Price of Php524,000), and Candy Chromosphere Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic colors for E-Clutch type (price will be announced soon). This design gives the bike a memorable Modern Neo-Sports Cafe Racer look.
The other debuting Sport Bike, The All-New CB500 Hornet features a similar Neo Sports Cafe style as The All-New CB650R but with a sharper LED lighting system design.
Moreover, The All-New CB500 Hornet gets a 471cc Liquid-Cooled 4-Stroke DOHC Parallel Twin engine that outputs 37.1kw @ 8,500rpm max power and 44.7 Nm @ 6,500rpm max torque. Meanwhile, Showa 41mm SFF BP USD Forks, and a Prolink Mono rear suspension provide handling, while dual-front and single-rear disc brakes with 2-channel ABS and Honda Selectable Torque Control ensures the bike’s efficient stopping power and drivability, respectively. And just like the CB650R, The All-New CB500 Hornet is equipped with a 5-inch TFT display with the Honda Roadsync app to help make all your daily commutes much more efficient - and fun!
Add to these its Pearl Himalayas White and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic colors; with a Unified Standard Retail Price of Php379,000 and you have a bike that’s sure to make you stand out from the rest.
Honda also launched their latest Adventure Big Bike, The All-New NX500. Eye-catching design is accentuated by a Rally-Style face with full LED lighting system. This gives riders a more upright riding position that’s ideal for long adventures, as well as excellent nighttime visibility.
Powering this bike is a 471cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke DOHC parallel twin engine with 4 valves/cylinder that balances physical size and impressive power output with a spirited, high-revving quality. In fact, this engine delivers 37.1kW @ 8,500rpm max power and 44Nm @ 6,600rpm max torque, as well as a respectable 29.9km/L fuel economy - more than enough for all your adventures both on and off-road.
The All-New NX500 is also equipped with dual-front and single-rear disc brakes with 2-channel ABS, and Showa 41mm SFF BP USD front forks and Prolink Mono rear suspension. Add to these its 5-Inch TFT Display with Honda Roadsync App, Honda Selectable Torque Control, and an Assist Slipper Clutch and you have a big adventure bike that’s rugged enough for the trail and well-mannered enough for everyday commutes.
Available in Pearl Horizon White and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. With a Unified Standard Retail Price of Php409,000.
HPI also showcased six (6) of their standout big bikes for the public to check out and drool over! These iconic big bikes include The New Goldwing (USRP: Php2,000,000 ) the company’s flagship touring big bike; The New Rebel1100 (USRP: Php650,000) the company’s interpretation of the modern classic bobber; The New Rebel500 (USRP: Php399,000); The New CRF1100L Africa Twin which is offered in manual (USRP: Php950,000) and DCT (USRP: Php1,170,000) variants, with the DCT having a lower seat height and The New XL750 Transalp (USRP: Php598,000)
Furthermore, most of these showcased bikes came accessorized allowing Filipino riders to envision the style possibilities the company has to offer.
HPI also launched a line of new Honda branded apparels which include Riding Jackets, T-shirts, Riding Gloves, and Honda caps. These apparels are designed to evoke a spirit of adventure for all Filipino riders. If you like riding, these Honda Apparels are just for you. Another highlight display is the innovative line-up of Power Products and a selection of Pro Honda Oil.
Honda dealers, and branch managers also joined their program. Not only did this gives these attendees the opportunity to check out a number of new bikes up close and personal, but it also helped develop closer ties.
