Sepang, Malaysia – 8 March 2019: The Honda Group of Companies in Asia & Oceania announced that
SHOWA CORPORATION, a manufacturer of automotive and motorcycle suspension systems, has become the official team sponsor of Honda Asia-Dream Racing. With this collaboration, the racing team’s name is now officially Honda Asia-Dream Racing with SHOWA.
SHOWA CORPORATION is widely recognized for the high-quality suspension products it provides to major motorcycle and automobile manufacturers. The new partnership will support Honda Asia-Dream Racing, which is Honda’s primary racing team in the Asia & Oceania motorsports scene.
The Honda Asia-Dream Racing with SHOWA team, which is recruiting top personnel from Honda subsidiaries and other Honda racing teams across the Asia & Oceania region, is led by former MotoGP racer Makoto Tamada as team manager, with Zaqhwan Zaidi from Malaysia as team rider of the CBR1000RR SP2 racing machine. The team will compete in the inaugural Asia Superbike 1000cc class at the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship 2019, as well as in two other famous international races — in the Japan Superbike 1000cc class at the All-Japan Road Race Championship 2019 and in the Suzuka 8-hour Endurance Race 2019.
With the Honda and SHOWA CORPORATION collaboration, Honda Asia-Dream Racing with SHOWA will strive to deliver the best race results to realize the dream of having a Honda team and its riders become a challenger in world-class motorcycle racing.
