Lusail International Circuit, Qatar - April 12-13, 2025:  Alfonsi Daquigan came close to a podium finish, proving just how determined he is to reach the top. As the only Filipino rider in the field, Daquigan continues to rise against fierce international competition in one of the most challenging series in motorsports—the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup.

Lap after lap, he thrilled the crowd with his relentless push for the lead, chasing what could be the Philippines’ first-ever victory in the series. Riding bike number 22, Daquigan showed courage and focus as he battled wheel-to-wheel with his fellow riders, gradually climbing the ranks and asserting himself as a serious contender.

In Race 1, Daquigan showcased his tactical skills, maintaining a consistent position. Despite pressure from seasoned competitors from Japan, Thailand, and Indonesia, he held his line, waited for openings, and made several daring overtakes. He crossed the finish line, but his performance left a strong impression on both fans and race officials.

Race 2 was no different in intensity. Daquigan started in a promising grid position and immediately launched into action, matching his competitor’s pace. At one point, he was running as high as third, exchanging positions in a thrilling battle that had the grandstands on their feet. A late-lap shuffle pushed him slightly back, but he still secured a solid top-five finish—his best result yet in the championship.

Alfonsi’s journey is about representing the Philippines on the international stage. As the only Filipino rider in the Asia Talent Cup, he carries the hopes of an entire nation every time he takes on the racetrack. His passion, discipline, and ever-improving form are quickly making him a fan favorite.

As the Asia Talent Cup continues to tour across Asia, all eyes will be on Daquigan to see if he can claim that coveted podium finish—or even make history with a win for the Philippines.
